The War Against Boys
Boys are languishing socially and academically. With each passing year, their plight only worsens. The social and economic costs of male underachievement and disengagement are staggering. How did we get here and what can be done? Dr. Sommers will speak on this subject for the first part of her hour then Michael Gurian will join her in an interview format to dig deeper into this crucial social issue.
Christina Hoff Sommers, Ph.D., is a Senior Fellow Emeritus at the American Enterprise Institute. Before joining AEI she was a professor of philosophy at Clark University. Her articles have appeared in publications such as The Journal of Philosophy, The New England Journal of Medicine, The New York Times, and The Atlantic.
Dr. Sommers is the editor of Vice and Virtue in Everyday Life, a textbook on moral philosophy. Her books include Who Stole Feminism? and The War Against Boys (the latter was a New York Times “Notable Book of the Year”). She is co-author of One Nation Under Therapy.
