Waking Women and the World Up to the Boy Crisis
From Lisa: My talk will focus on the importance of waking up the whole world and more women especially to the boy crisis. I will focus in large part on tools like social media and womenโs media outlets that can work to help boys become good men. There has been a refusal in women’s work and women’s-oriented media to deal with what is happening to our sons, and a refusal that is somewhat worldwide. We need to change the script if we are to help give boys what they need because so much of their lives depend on what women do and think.
Lisa Britton is a journalist and advocate for fathers and the mental health, and the education & well-being of our boys. “Men and women aren’t meant to be rivals; we’re on the same team,” she has written. And she has pointed out: “When girls were behind in education, we said, ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆโ๐ด ๐ด๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ธ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ด๐บ๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ฎ. Now that boys are behind, itโs ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆโ๐ด ๐ด๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ธ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐บ๐ด. That double standard isnโt just unfair, itโs unacceptable.” Lisa has met with state government officials and legislators and presented to governmental agencies to inspire the future development of state and federal councils on boys and men.
